Siler City Airport Open House
The open house event started in 2011 and has been held on a Saturday in July each year. The airport terminal buildings and ramps areas will be open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Local pilots are encouraged to fly-in to the event and display their aircraft. Concessions are available.
Youth (ages 7-17) are encouraged to attend and sign up for the "Young Eagles Day" program which gets them a free introductory flight (plane ride) and a certificate. The EAA Chapter 1114 from Apex sponsors the Young Eagles Day.
Town of Siler City Police and Fire Departments, UNC Air Care "Tarheel 1" medical helicopter from Chatham Hospital, US Forest Service firespotting helicopter and fixed wing plane, aerobatic planes, Bull City Street Rod Association, and many other personal aircraft have been in attendance.
